Maravilhoso. O jogo consegue te enganar por um bom tempo, mesmo você sabendo que ele é de terror, e te prende em uma gameplay imersiva na qual quando você menos esperar ele vai puxar seu tapete e te deixar maluco. 5/5
Well damn. Now this is a great exercise in slow, deliberate tension building.
Constantly bouncing back and forth between a totally mundane task that you can do just as you like, at the pace you want... but notice as the house gets weirder and weirder the closer you go.
I was a little surprised at the relative abruptness of the two endings and how little the choice between them actually changes (though I watched the "bad" ending elsewhere, as I didn't really feel like replaying the whole game from the beginning for that). They really aren't super different outside of one line of dialogue and an ending graphic, and I guess after the masterful buildup I expected a bit more from the branching path.
Still, that is not to say it is a blemish on this game, cause it a brilliantly spooky experience that I am glad I had. Great, great work.
Well, what can I saya bout this game. It was very unsettling but mostly/probably one of the best "slow horror games" I think I've played! Really fantastic job. The story was a tad confusing but I got there in the end but ONE QUESTION remains unanswered... ANSWERED WHAT!!
I don't do a lot of reviews on Itch.io but WOW. This one really hit at a couple of points. The box lugging in the early game was tedious, but I got legitimately startled more than once as things picked up. Clear Hereditary and Skinamarink influences make this a really nice mix of unexpected situations that keep you guessing. My only gripe would be the signaling for when you can no longer interact with certain objects. The prompts stop appearing but it isn't clear what the next trigger is. Still, it always stayed interesting, and got a couple of out loud "WHOA" moments out of me, which is rare anymore. Now if I can just figure out how to unlock that one door...
Great work, the indie horror scene needs more gems like this.
That was really cool! Very surreal and creepy. Kind of reminded me of 'Mother!' by Darren Aronofsky in a way. You have a neck for making interior design, the house looked great. The collision might need some work, since moving around the house was very jumpy and janky. Other than that my only commplaint is I wished it was longer. Looking forward to your next game.
I wished I could have finished decorating the house, stupid grief monster! >:/
I agree with the movement. I opened every cabinet looking for a certain key, and often found myself awkwardly stuck in a small space. Still, I definitely enjoyed the experience, and appreciate your associations with "Mother!" though I wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as that film made me!
welp. This goes some places. Weird ones. I thought I soft locked myself but I missed that last window. The tension building really works out well. The surreal and liminal do a lot of heavy lifting to. Good work.
I softlocked the game because I paused the game when there was dialogue and when I unpaused the game I couldn't click continue to proceed in the dialogue and I couldn't interact with anything and I was really enjoying the game up until then please fix this bug I don't want people to ruin there experience of this game because of this bug :(
i play your game from steam and its bugged. when i already put all the boxes. there is on trigger for the new order. i make sure more and more and im sure that the boxes is already put where they belong
This is an amazing game it's been awhile since I played anything that made me feel uneasy and at the edge of my seat in a long time. I strongly suggest everyone play this game!
This was a really unique experience. Nothing can describe the way I was shot with despair after wandering the house and watching the doors and windows disappear. Not to mention how genuinely claustrophobic the house already felt becoming worse after it became more enclosed. There was so much genuine despair and grief and emotions inside of this and I will probably play a few more times to discover more of the nooks and crannies. :) Thank you ScaryCube.
That's amazing! Best true-to-the-name psychological horror that I saw since Concluse - great sound design and clever staging of the scenes create the suspense perfectly (and it never goes down till the finale because there are no actual jumpscares which could reduce the tension to zero). The vibes of Silent Hill 2 - and, at the final act, "P.T." and David Lynch's "Eraserhead" - make this experience even more haunting. Enough said, that's simply brilliant! :D
This is one of the greatest games I've played in a long time. I loved how the story of grief, loss and guilt was told and the sound design was really awesome.
Haven't seen many horror games that let you decorate a house to give it a more personal touch (felt like I was really moving into that place). Keep up the great work and greetings to Brazil!
This game was amazing! I loved the aesthetics, and the story. I got both endings, but only found 4/5 secrets. No idea what I am missing. Its too long to play through a 3rd time, especially with just looking for 1 secret
what a great game! one of the best small free horror games out there! super creepy! i also have to say good job on the story telling with the tapes! you can tell there was alot of work put it to writing them ! good job!
I can tell a lot of love went into this game. Many parts of the game play feels fluid and unobtrusive, they make sense. The horror elements are done very well, and I can empathize with the main character's feelings of loss, grief, guilt. It reminds me of some of my favorite media; Anatomy by Kitty Horrorshow and Skinamarink specifically, and honestly it's completely what I've been looking for in horror over the last few weeks. Something dark that pulses in your veins, dogging each of your actions.
Everything from the audio work, tapes, lighting and general ambiance really scream as homages in their own way while remaining unique. Truly a wonderful experience!

Psychological horror done right. You're batting a thousand right now with this game and your last one. I'm excited to see what's next.

Honestly and truly one of the best slow burn horror games I think I've played! Really fantastic job. The story was so good!
loved it!

Super dark and grim, loved the whole thing, will be going back for the bad ending soon.

What a wonderful game, perfectly paced and deeply atmospheric

I definitely took some hints from Silent Hill 2 and P.T., though Eraserhead was too much for my head to wrap around lol
Right, a save system would have been useful indeed. Thanks for playing!

It was a lot of fun though!
The final secret is definitely hard to find, but it envolves that mysterious empty message you receive
Huh, I'll have to give it another go then, and try to figure it out!
This was really good! Love the story building and overall gameplay, liked how slow paced it was. Made a video on it.
Thank you for playing!
